Amy loves being an OT. It allows her to connect with children, young people, and their families to support them to be able to do the things that are most important to them, as well as those things that are going to provide a valuable scaffold for them as they grow and develop.
Amy has worked with people of all ages but much of her career has been spent working in paediatrics. Most recently this included working at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, and the Mater Children’s Hospital before that. She has broad experience working with children from birth to 16 years, across acute and subacute hospital settings as well as more chronic difficulties in the community.
Amy has a special interest in working with kids and young people with mental health challenges that impact their development and physical health such as functional somatic symptoms. After having her twin boys 11 weeks prematurely and riding the rollercoaster of a complex pregnancy and premature babies, she also loves working with infants and their families who have experienced this challenging start to life. She enjoys supporting parents of all ages to connect with their kids.
When not working as an OT, Amy is mum to her active twin boys and enjoys walking in nature with her golden retriever, coffee dates with friends, and is a complete podcast junkie.
Amy is available for appointments every Friday.
