Deb Cotter

Deb Cotter graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master’s of Physiotherapy Studies in 2004 and commenced her physiotherapy career at the Mater Children’s Hospital. Over the next 17 years, Deb worked closely with paediatricians, orthopaedic surgeons and other specialists to ensure the best patient outcomes. As a working mother with two busy teenagers, Deb prides herself at providing holistic, individualised family centred care with a realistic approach to what can be achieved within each family’s schedule.

Deb’s expertise in providing neuro-developmental assessment of infants and has a been a lead clinician at the Mater Growth and Development Clinic for many years.  Deb is passionate about early intervention for infants to support their gross motor skills and maximise their movement potential.

Deb’s postgraduate training has included specialist training in the United States in the management of rehabilitation following limb reconstruction surgery. Deb has been able to utilise her extensive training and clinical experience to help children achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Deb has a deep interest in paediatric physiotherapy and has been the chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Paediatric (Qld) group and has had her research presented at national conferences.
