Dr Melanie Aldridge

Dr Melanie Aldridge is a Paediatric Nephrologist and welcomes all referrals across her field with a particular interest in chronic kidney disease, vasculitis, acute kidney injury, congenital anomalies of the renal tract and provides antenatal counselling.

Melanie is also a General Paediatrician able to provide holistic care to children of all ages from birth to the end of their schooling. She holds a casual Senior Medical Officer position at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Melanie has trained at multiple sites in Queensland; working at The Gold Coast University Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Mater Hospital and Toowoomba Base Hospital. In addition, she has completed nephrology fellowships at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, The Sydney Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Westmead (Sydney).

Melanie’s commitment to being at the forefront of her specialty is clear through her active participation in National nephrology working groups and continued research with multiple publications and presentations at National and International conferences.

She is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and has been involved with the training of junior doctors and medical students throughout her career. Melanie is a member of various professional bodies in Australia including young ANZSN (Australia New Zealand Society of Nephrology) working with early career nephrologists to improve the training of junior trainees.

Melanie is dedicated to providing family-centred care with private consultations and thorough follow-up. She prides herself on her interpersonal skills and works collaboratively with her network of paediatric colleagues; inclusive of allied health and nursing staff. Melanie will be offering private consultations in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

In her free time, Dr Mel juggles work life with her family of two young sons. They love camping, keeping fit and active and spend most weekends outdoors!
